Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs
(Ongoing Position, Closing Date 22/01/2012)

Duties:
“The Indigenous Engagement Officer will: Work with the Government Business Managers to increase Government’s knowledge and understanding of the community. Meet and talk with families, individuals and community groups about how they want the community to develop. Provide input and advice on correspondence, briefs and reports. Attend work related forums, recalls and other workshops. Maintain regular communication and engagement with Town Camp residents. Regularly manage and develop systems to report on issues affecting Town Camp residents. Together with the Government Business Manager, develop relationships with all tiers of Government and service providers working in Town Camp communities. Occasionally travel to remote Aboriginal communities. Will also need to travel interstate and intrastate, as required. Work in a highly dynamic environment and be willing to assist with other aspects of work when needed.”
